This whole “Pilates Studio Thing” is Just a Cover- up!
From the moment I learned that Wellness Coaching was “a thing”, I knew that was what I was made to do. Yes, I love teaching fitness classes (and being a mom, wife and grandma), but coaching is a very special process. It’s a privilege to coach others and be allowed to be part of their lives in this special way. To sit with them as they sort out what they really want for their lives. To give them hope. To stoke the fire of belief that they can have what they have always dreamed of. And helping them go for it!
Over the last 16 years, I have sat with thousands of people and learned so much from them. We all struggle with taking time for self-care. We struggle with the conflicting information out there about diet and exercise. How do we eat healthy? What is the latest? What’s the best exercise?
The real reason I opened this studio- is to help people take care of all aspects of their wellness- to clear up some of that conflicting information- and provide a support system.
Let’s face it- one of the biggest reasons we don’t take good care of ourselves is because we are busy, stressed and burned out. We need more strategies and tools to help us manage better- without effecting our health – because life just isn’t going to slow down.
We also need the support of others to do it. We can’t be on an island being the only one trying to eat healthy and meditate. We need a group of people (who doesn’t think that is WEIRD) to support us. We also need to know that our struggles are not unique! That we are not alone in what we are going through.
I’ve spent the last 4 years developing and TESTING my group weight management program- Called Align.
I realized right away that weight loss is not really about the scale. There is so much more to it. We have to address all the areas that are involved. What we eat, how we move and what we say to ourselves. I’m a nerd and I like to learn and then break down that knowledge into bite sized pieces for others. I’ve learned from experts like Pam Peeke MD., Kristen Neff PhD, Brene Brown PhD, Marshall Rosenburg PhD, Marc David, Sara Gottfried MD., Margaret Moore and many more.
Align is a 10 week “Weight Management” program- for lack of a better word.
It’s really a 10 Week “Life Change Program”. But that doesn’t really speak to people. Until you experience it. Most of us are just focused on our weight- so weight loss is what we hear that resonates. But, after each program is over, my members say that it is SO much more than that. It’s just hard to explain until you experience it. So I am giving up trying to explain that and just asking people to experience it!
Here’s what one of my client’s said:
“The best part about align for me has been the realization that I can and I will. I am a stronger person because of this program. It has enabled me to see the best parts of me and the weakest parts of me. I also know that at the end of the day I am human, and that no matter what I am not going to give up on myself. I love me better now! I am an ongoing project…” ~ KW
Coaching makes me happy. It fills my heart and soul with purpose and joy. I feel so much closer and connected to others. I rejoice in their successes. So, its a very selfish act I’m running here.
The program is 10 weeks and I am starting a new group on June 21st. We will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30- 8:00 PM. The cost for the 15 hours of coaching is $375 ($25/hour).
