Beginning Reformer Classes:

If you have previous reformer experience, you are welcome to join our reformer classes without the introductory sessions. However, if it has been a while and you would like to brush up on the basic principals and form, we invite you to join an introductory option.

During our introductory sessions, we help you understand the Mind-Body connection, teach you the Basic Principals of Pilates, help you get comfortable with the reformer equipment, explain the many benefits of the workout and help you gain confidence in your abilities.  We LOVE to teach people to use the reformers!  There is nothing else like them.  It does require learning a new skill – so it is great for both your brain and your body.

FAQ

I have an injury- where do I start?

If you have a back, knee, hip, shoulder, ankle or foot injury- we have solutions!  Call us and let’s discuss what is going on.  We work with people who are either currently dealing with or coming back from all types of injuries.  We can safely lead you to begin moving again.  Typically our options are to work with you one on one, bring you into our Back Into Fitness Class (reformer class) or work with you providing modifications in our pilates mat class.

I am a beginner. I’ve never done pilates.

Most of the people who join our Reformer Introductory sessions have never done pilates!  Out here in the mid-west, it isn’t as common and we consider it one of our goals to spread the benefits of pilates to the Northland of KC!  Our mat pilates classes are also another great place to start. We provide many modifications to accommodate various fitness levels.  In our classes, we are patient with each other about our physical needs and no one ever needs to worry about keeping up or looking silly.  Our clients love to help each other as much as we love to help our clients.  We’ve been blessed with amazing clients who care about each other’s success!!

I want to lose weight- can you guide me into the best classes?

Absolutely!  You CAN lose weight doing pilates.  We love to educate people that increasing muscle is the biggest factor in weight loss.  Pilates will help you build long, lean muscles and will also change the way you carry your body.  There are three components of fitness; 1- Cardiovascular training, 2- Strength training 3- Flexibility training.  Pilates incorporates all 3!  Additionally, our fitness classes such as Ride and Row, Barre and Power Yoga Scuplt all challenge your body, helping you burn more calories and increase muscle.  We are happy to guide you and challenge you to try new classes when you are ready.
