I worked 15 years as Registered Nurse in multiple areas of health care and corporate wellness. Through educating and coaching hundreds of people, I realized that people needed more support in focusing on their own health and wellness and there were not very many resources out there to support that. We needed more places to help people make their own health a priority and to have fun doing it. Most of us know what to do, it’s just hard to do it!
Having support is key, everything gets a little easier when you know your are not alone. More and more research has come out showing that we are designed to connect with others. This type of human connection is missing in our world. So, its my goal to infuse a little of that back in through my studio.
I created Rise and Shine, not just to be a fitness studio, but to help people connect and grow together. It’s a place to work on personal development- physically and emotionally, without worrying about being perfect or being judged. We are all doing the best we can We just need a little help!
I enjoy learning everything I can about nutrition, physical activity, human behavior and natural medicine and then sharing that knowledge to help others improve their health and well-being. I have always been intuitive about understanding the needs of others and helping people move from “survive” to “thrive”. It’s the most rewarding job and I feel so blessed to be able to do it everyday.
On a personal note, I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Jeff, for 26 years, together we have 3 wonderful sons, two beautiful daughter’s- in-law and an adorable granddaughter. I love spending time with my family and friends, enjoying nature and visiting the ocean every chance I get.
